Jr. Explorers Reunion

Friday, August 28: 10:00am

As Jr. Explorers completes its final session, we’d like to take time to celebrate the program’s impact and the families who were part of it.

If your child is a past or current Jr. Explorer, your family is invited to join us for a Jr. Explorers Reunion on Friday, August 28 at 10am. At the reunion, we’ll enjoy light refreshments and snacks while reconnecting with the friends you made, meeting families from other sessions, and catching up with some of the staff who were part of your child’s journey.

This event is free, but pre-registration is encouraged.

Baby’s Night Out

Wednesday, September 9: 4:30pm – 6:00pm

Join us for our next Baby’s Night Out, sponsored by Wisconsin Swim Academy, on Wednesday, September 9 from 4:30 – 6pm! Enjoy an evening of age-appropriate activities for the whole family, including hand and footprint art, a sensory bin experience, storytimes, and more. There will also be opportunities to connect with other families, listen to parenting presentations, and access resources from community partners.

This event is free for members and $11 for non-members. Infants under 12 months are free as well.

Member Preview Night: Framed

Friday, September 18: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

In celebration of Member Appreciation Month and the arrival of our new traveling exhibit, BFK members are invited to explore Framed: Step Into Art™, sponsored locally by Jewelers Mutual, before it opens to the public! Join us on Friday, September 18 from 5 – 7pm to step into the frame and experience famous works of art like never before. Enjoy pizza, a ribbon cutting ceremony, and exclusive, first-time access to the new exhibit!

This event is free and only open to BFK members.

Night at the Art Museum

Friday, October 2: 5:00pm – Saturday, October 3: 7:00am

Night at the Art Museum brings art, exploration and after-hours play together for an overnight experience at the BFK. Enjoy creative activities, explore the museum after closing, and make special memories inspired by Framed: Step Into Art™.

Please bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, comforters, and/or anything else you else you will need for sleeping. Please note that each group must have at least one adult spending the night with them. This event is $15 for members and $25 for non-members.

Character Playdate with Paddington Bear

Friday, October 9: 5:00pm – 7:00pm

Calling all adventurers, explorers, and Paddington fans! Paddington Bear is making a stop at the Building for Kids, and you’re invited! This character playdate, sponsored by Speedy Clean, will include exclusive, after-hours playtime, themed activities, storytimes, pizza, and lots of opportunities to meet the storybook star.

Sensory-Friendly Option: Designed for families in the autism community, we also have a sensory friendly option to meet Paddington Bear on Wednesday, October 7. This event is free for families in the autism community.

Halloween Bash

Saturday, October 31: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Join us on Saturday, October 31 for our Halloween Bash, a spook-tacular day at the BFK! Enjoy themed activities and showing off your Halloween costumes!

This themed day is free with a BFK membership or the paid price of general admission.

Art Heist: Building for Grown-Ups

Friday, November 6: 6:00pm – 10:00pm

A masterpiece has gone missing! The Building for Kids is turning into the scene of an art heist for one night only. Join us for an adults-only evening, sponsored by Amano Print House, where you become a part of the mystery of this missing masterpiece. As the mystery unfolds, enjoy refreshments and a catered dinner. More information coming soon!

Tickets are $40 per person. Sign up with 6 or more people to get 25% off your tickets. This event is for ages 21+ and a physical ID will be required at check-in.
