As of September 1, the Building for Kids is excited to introduce a new monthly membership experience that allows you to customize a membership around how your family visits the museum. We now offer the following benefits packages, and your monthly cost is based on the number of named individuals you include on your membership. Anyone can be added to your membership (grandparents, babysitters, friends, etc.).
BFK Membership
- Unlimited free admission
- Exclusive member-only hours: Wednesdays & Saturdays from 8-9am & Tuesdays from 4-6pm
- Free or discounted admission to special events
- A $50 discount on all birthday party packages
- Access to programs such as Summer Explorer Camps

- EVERYTHING included in the BFK Membership
- 5 annual guest passes (NEW!)
- Reciprocal benefits: free or discounted general admission to hundreds of participating institutions across the country in the Association of Children’s Museums Reciprocal Network or Association of Science Technology Centers Travel Passport Program.
Plus, September is Member Appreciation Month, so members will enjoy extra perks throughout the month, including free parking, up to two free guests per visit, a gift shop discount, and more! Learn more about Member Appreciation Month benefits here.

**Please note that all monthly membership renew automatically each month and require a minimum one-year commitment. You may cancel at any time after an initial one-year period by giving us a call at 920-734-3226.

Access Memberships
Access Memberships allow families experiencing financial hardships to access safe, play-based learning opportunities at the Building for Kids. Families can find the right price for them based on the table below. Fill out a membership form in person or give us a call at 920-734-3226 to set up your Access Membership.

Requirements: Access Memberships require documents demonstrating financial need to be shown in person. Examples of approved documentation includes WIC, Head Start, verification of state or federal assistance or a referral from a local non-profit. Click here for a full list of approved documentation. Family Access Memberships are for families that live within a 45-mile radius of the BFK.
ASTC/ACM Reciprocal Benefits
With ASTC/ACM Reciprocal Benefits you can receive free or discounted general admission to hundreds of participating institutions across the country in the Association of Children’s Museums Reciprocal Network or Association of Science Technology Centers Travel Passport Program.
- ACM: get 50% off general admission for up to six (6) people at children’s museums participating in the network
- ASTC: get free general admission to science centers & museums located outside 90 miles of your residence and the science center or museum where you are a member. For a list of zip codes that are within 90 miles of the BFK and cannot use ASTC benefits, click here.

Give the Gift of Membership
Give the gift of adventure and endless discovery with a Building for Kids membership! When you purchase a membership as a gift, the monthly charge will be billed to you until you cancel it. Gifted memberships require a one-year minimum commitment. You can buy gift memberships online, at our Welcome Desk, or over the phone at 920-734-3226.
Educator Bonus
Educators with a valid school ID or homeschooling proof are eligible for a free month of membership when they sign up. After your first paid month, your second month with be free. To receive the bonus month, you must sign up in-person at our Welcome Desk to present proof of your educator status.
First-Time Parent Memberships
First-time parents can receive a FREE membership to the Building for Kids for the first 18 months of their child’s life by joining the Welcome Baby Community! The Welcome Baby Community was created to support the needs of first-time parents in the Fox Valley region.
Try before you buy!
Want to visit the Building before deciding if you’d like to buy a membership? Your admission can be credited toward the same-day purchase of any of our memberships. This is a great way to give the Building for Kids Membership a test run!
