What is a Play-Based Community?
The Building for Kids leverages our knowledge, philosophy, and capacities to implement play-based environments in spaces around our community. We believe play is a powerful tool for learning, connection, and well-being. By creating opportunities for meaningful play wherever children live, learn, and gather, we help foster a stronger, more connected community.
Our Projects
In 2025, People of Progression opened play-based community space designed by the Building for Kids, created to provide an engaging and welcoming area for children who accompany their adults to the People of Progression Community Center. It emphasizes imagination and identity-building through specially-curated interactives.
The Building for Kids designed and is the process of implementing a play-based learning environment in the in the new First 5 Fox Valley Family Resource Center. This dynamic, nature-themed play space features a climbing structure, a tree wind tunnel, soft play elements, dress up clothes/props, and more.
