Through hands-on experiences that encourage movement, imagination, problem-solving, and collaboration, each of our exhibits invite kids of all ages and their grown-ups to play with purpose and grow together. With two floors and over 30,000 square feet of exhibit space to discover, every visit offers families a new adventure.
BFK Jet
Travel the world right from the BFK! In this exhibit, you can step into the world of aviation by climbing into the cockpit of a jet, experiencing the excitement of being a pilot, and taking command from the control tower.
Big Rig Depot
Climb aboard the Big Rig and shift your imagination into high gear! In the Big Rig Depot, you can explore the world of trucking as you, fill up with gas, repair the engine, and hit the open road.
Doll Hospital
Slip into your white coat and care for patients in our Doll Hospital! This exhibit invites you to explore a realistic medical setting complete with examination tables, scales, medical equipment, an interactive x-ray puzzle, and more.
Food to Grow
From farm to table, our Food to Grow exhibit invites you to experience the whole food system. Harvest crops at the farm, gather ingredients at the market, cook up something delicious, and then sit around the table to enjoy your meal!
The Lab
Step into The Lab, a dynamic, hands-on space where curiosity leads the way! Guided by the four steps of the scientific method—Ask, Think, Learn, and Share—you’ll engage in daily experiments and facilitated activities that spark inquiry, collaboration, and communication.
The Littlest Branch
Become a teller, financial consultant, or customer at The Littlest Branch! Through making deposits at the drive thru using a real pneumatic tube system, sorting coins, or withdrawing cash from the ATM, you’ll have fun while exploring financial concepts like saving, spending, and sharing.
Amazing Heart Slide
Take a journey through the human body! The Amazing Heart Slide invites you to climb inside a 10-foot-tall heart and slide down its ventricles and arteries. Have a blast combining physical play with anatomy education!
Babies & Toddlers Around the World
This exhibit transports little explorers on a trip around the world! Children ages 0-3 can crawl, climb, and play their way through a vibrant landscape inspired by diverse environments—from mountain slides to sandy dunes.
Construction Junction
Put on your hard hat and dive into the world of construction! In the Construction Junction, you can operate a kid-sized crane, transport materials using a conveyor belt, build and demolish structures, and more.
Curiosity Corner
Curiosity Corner is a cozy, hands-on space that promotes open-ended play, sensory exploration, and early learning. By offering ways to explore, test, and learn, this exhibit provides an introduction to STEM while encouraging you to follow your curiosity.
Discovery Tree
Climb, crawl, and venture through the treetops in this centerpiece of the museum! The Discovery Tree is a towering, hand-crafted structure designed by artist Bennett Abrams, featuring whimsical tree forts, rope nets, and lots of friendly forest creatures to meet along the way.
Move It
Turn physics into fun in this high-energy exhibit all about motion and mechanics! Move It is a hands-on playground of simple machines where you can experiment with levers, pulleys, and inclined planes to move colorful balls through a maze of air tubes and tracks.
Station 99
It’s time to save the day! At Station 99, you can suit up in firefighter gear, hop into the driver’s seat of a full-sized firetruck, and race to the rescue. Imagine what it’s like to be a hometown hero while you grab the hose and put out the fire!
The Studio
Use your imagination and create to your heart’s content in The Studio! Whether you’re painting, sculpting, collaging, or experimenting with mixed media, this activity space invites you to express yourself through open-ended art experiences.
Water Gallery
Put on a raincoat and make a splash in our Water Gallery! Featuring a vortex, boat building stations, and fog mushrooms, this exhibit encourages you to experiment with cause and effect while working together to move water in new and exciting ways.
Exhibit Gallery – Planet Imagination
A few times per year, we refresh our Exhibit Gallery with a returning or brand-new exhibit, and one of the BFK’s most loved temporary exhibits is back in this space by popular demand! In Planet Imagination, kids and their grown-ups can imagine, build, and discover a world all their own.
This space-themed exhibit encourages visitors to create their own planet using giant, blue building blocks and wacky play structures. Let your imagination shine by building a shelter on your planet or creating wild terrain to traverse, like an obstacle course.
Fun for all ages (adults included), Planet Imagination provides opportunities for large, gross motor movements and collaborative, open-ended play.

The Story of the Land Where We Stand
Be sure to check out The Story of the Land Where We Stand, an interactive mural honoring Menominee land and culture. The project features the voices of students saying words that are represented in the mural in both Menominee and English.
