Looking to help create a happy and healthy community? Check out the volunteer opportunities offered by Samaritan, an organization that helps kids, parents, and families care for their mental health by providing counseling, early support, and tools to navigate big feelings and life’s challenges together.
Supporting Samaritan
Because Samaritan provides confidential counseling services, formal volunteer opportunities are limited to adults. However, community members of all ages can support the mission through donation drives, awareness activities, and service projects that promote emotional wellness.
Ways Families Can Help:
Families and community members can play an important role in supporting children’s mental health through creative acts of generosity. Here are some ways you can help support Samaritan’s mission:
- Donating art therapy supplies (markers, sensory tools, journals, craft materials, etc.)
- Building calming kits for children learning emotional regulation skills
- Donating children’s books focused on feelings, resilience, kindness, and mental wellness
- Creating comfort items such as small blankets
- Organizing a family lemonade stand or mini fundraiser supporting mental health access
- Creating kindness or encouragement cards for clients
