Traveling Exhibits

October 1, 2011 - March 26, 2012

Families can learn fun and creative ways to save our planet by recycling, reusing, and repairing.   Based on the children's book, "George Saves the World by Lunch Time" by Jo Readman, kids can become super heroes as they find out it is fun and smart to be kind to the earth.  Exhibit modules will engage kids in clever ways to create and save energy.

Eat Well, Play Well Traveling Exhibit

April 7-September 9, 2012

This interactive, fun, and educational exhibit encourages healthy living by teaching the science of making healthy food choices and helping children and adults discover there are many fun and interesting ways to stay active.

Permanent Exhibits

The exhibits in the Building for Kids are all designed by kids for kids. Each exhibit helps build children's imagination, creativity and confidence. The learning experience is hands-on, open-ended and self-selected . Museum interpreters are on-hand to assist and encourage, but the learning is all child-driven.

Doll Hospital

Doll Hospital

The Doll Hospital lets kids wear hospital scrubs and care for very life-like baby dolls.

DaVinci Studio

DaVinci Art & Science Studio always has fun - and sometimes messy - projects for children to really get their hands in. Lots of make and take art!

Story Tree

The museum centerpiece is the huge Story Tree with 5 tree forts to climb in. Varying degrees of difficulty offer kids of all ages fun and challenging make-believe opportunities.

Kwik Trip

The Kwik Trip convenience store in Kids Town looks just like Mom and Dad's gas station with grocery scanners, a car wash, and little cars to drive.

Move-It

Move-It demonstrates several small simple machine concepts, including levers, pulleys, and a whole lot of fun!

Gulfstream Jet

The Gulfstream Jet has a realistic cockpit and control tower for little pilots and passengers to let their imaginations take flight.

Water Play

The water play area includes little raincoats for children and fun hydro-dynamics activities for kids of all ages to enjoy.

Happy Baby Garden

A long time favorite for our youngest visitors, 0-3. Children and their adults will enjoy this over-sized garden complete with celery slide, cucumber stairway, and musical orange slice.

Construction Junction

Put on a hard hat and take the controls of a realistic Boldt Crane with an electromagnet to move objects.

The Big Dig

Trucks and diggers in a room full of rubber "sand". More fun than a sandbox!

Kids Town Diner

Serving up fun at a colorful counter and booth. Kids can cook and serve make-believe diner foods.

Station 99 Fire Truck

Wear firefighter overalls, coats, boots, and hats as you learn about fire safety and sit in the driver's seat of a fire engine!

The Amazing Heart

Climb up and slide down the ventricles and arteries of a 10-foot human heart!
