for Kids invites girls to build their imagination,
creativity, and confidence!

Junior Girl Scout badge/Brownie try-it sessions can be scheduled by calling The Building for Kids. We offer badge and try-it sessions on Saturdays 8:30-10:00 a.m.. Fees for Badges and Try-Its are listed
per girl and include: Staff guided workshops and all
materials. Troop leaders must
purchase actual patches.
Junior Badges
Oil Up $12
Study environmental issues relating to our water systems. Hands-on activities explore the effects of, and difficulties in cleaning up, oil spills. Devise and test oil spill techniques in a mock oil spill and learn about the pollution that plagues the oceans.
Jeweler $14
Create and design a piece of jewelry. Learn diverse jewelry making techniques - soldering, casting, hammering, and molding. Discover different kinds of stones and minerals used in jewelry.
Science Discovery $12
This workshop is intended to foster an appreciation for science and the women who have made significant contributions to their field. Explore chemical reactions and properties of light and water. Chemicals will fizz, change color, glow and burn; while laundry soap creates lab diamonds.
Making it Matter $12
This program introduces and encourages young girls to pursue careers in engineering. Hands-on activities include civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering. Create electrical connections, magnetize metals, and create an invention of your own.
Ceramics & Clay $12
Ceramics is the fine art of manipulating clay into hardened shapes. Expand your artistic expression through this introduction to hands-on art. Learn to make frescos, tiles, and beads. Design a box to store your one-of-a-kind creations in.

Friends are Fun $9
The focus is on being a good friend; including making friends, keeping friends, and saying "goodbye" to friends. Activities include friendship building projects to keep and to share.
Science in Action $9
Learn about science in everyday life. Budding scientists will explore matter, atoms, and molecules. Activities include creating gases, putty and materials that defy logic.
Science Wonders $9
Study the science of magnets, bubbles, and electricity through experiments and observations. Uncover the secrets of chemistry, states of matter and chemical change. Activities include a wide array of hands-on science exploration.

Private Girl Scout OvernightsClimb inside a giant heart, create a masterpiece in our DaVinci studio, and giggle yourself to sleep in our tree house- all at your private overnight at The Building for Kids. Overnights run Friday or Saturday 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. Fees are $15.00 per girl with a $500.00 minimum. A $100.00 non-refundable deposit is required 30 days before date, with the balance due the day of the event. To make your evening even MORE exciting, book a staff guided Badge and Try-It overnight and explore the museum as never before! Fee depends on the cost of Badge/ Try-it selected.
For smaller troops or individual Daisies, Brownies, and Girl Scouts, The Building for Kids Children's Museum has 3 Deluxe Overnights scheduled for you to join. These overnights do not require a minimum number of girls or a minimum dollar amount to sign up. Scouts must be accompanied by an adult. These are strictly "girls only" - No boys allowed! Fun!

Sleep inside our fire truck, splash the night away in our water room, plus meet new friends all at our 5-Course overnights!
