Volunteer at The Building for Kids

The Building for Kids relies on our team of volunteers to fulfill our mission to build children's imagination, creativity, and confidence. Without these extra hands, we would not be able to provide our innovative, deeply engaging, and long-lasting educational exhibits and programming. If you have time and skills you would like to share, we encourage you to submit the application below.

 

Special Events Team:  Throughout the year, the Building for Kids holds a number of events for the children and families in our community.  BooBash and the Children's Parade are two examples that draw thousands of children and their families which cannot occur without the help of many volunteers.  We are always looking for new volunteers to add to our special events mailing list. 

 

Short-Term/Seasonal:  The bulk of our volunteers are only with us for a season.  Whether you must perform service hours for school or are simply looking to fill in some free time during summer break, we rely on our team of seasonal volunteers to compete a variety of tasks throughout the museum. 

 

Regularly Scheduled:  There are many projects which require an extended time commitment like contributing to the development of programming or helping coordinate events and activities.  Our regular volunteers are able to take greater ownership and pride in their ability to contribute towards or complete projects on a large scale and utilize their individual talents.
